The World Bowls Championships will be held on the Gold Coast in 2023!
Major Events Gold Coast is thrilled to partner with Bowls Australia and Tourism and Events Queensland in collaboration with the World Bowls Organising Committee to bring the sport’s pinnacle international competition to the Gold Coast, in what is a major coup for the city.
Following the event’s postponement in 2020 and 2021, which later followed by an ultimate cancellation due to COVID-19 restrictions, organisers have undertaken to hold the first staging of a revised competition format in 2023, which will move to a biennial rather than quadrennial staging and do away with all barrier qualifying events to increase global participation.
With the Gold Coast reckoned as a prime location for the event, the Championships will be held across a number of venues, including Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games legacy venue, Broadbeach Bowls Club, Club Helensvale, Club Musgrave, Mudgeeraba Bowls Club and Paradise Point Bowls Club.
