Australia’s next generation of triathlon talent will put their skills to the test over four action packed days of racing at the Triathlon Australia Super Sprint Race Weekend.
Held annually at the Gold Coast Performance Centre, the event draws up and coming triathletes from across Australia in a series of exciting and challenging events. The 2020 edition of the event will be held Thursday 10 December to Sunday 13 December 2020 and will feature more than 160 youth and junior triathletes.
2020 marks the 13th edition of the Super Sprint Race Weekend on the Gold Coast, with the event a regular feature on the Australian triathlon calendar.
Over the past decade, the event has grown considerably, with the 2018 and 2019 editions seeing more than 300 athletes, parents, coaches and support staff from across Australia come together on the Gold Coast for four days of fast-paced action.
The event forms part of the Australian Junior and Youth Triathlon Series, designed to showcase the next generation of Australian triathlon talent. Olympians Emma Jackson, Ryan Bailie and Aaron Royle all competed at the Super Sprint Race Weekend in their junior years before going on to achieve success at the elite level.
Spectators are encouraged to come and watch the action, with athletes taking on exciting new formats like the fast-paced Super Sprint Triathlon, as well as the Mixed Relay, which will make its debut at the Tokyo Olympics next year.
