Major Events Gold Coast is excited to welcome back the Gold Coast Beach 5s Rugby Festival to Greenmount Beach, Coolangatta in 2023.
The end of season summer festival will host the normal exciting Beach 5s games for Juniors, Masters and Seniors and will also showcase the Grand Final Champion of Champions for the teams that have reached finals during the 2022/2023 season.
Beach 5s Rugby is a five aside, sand based, fast-paced game on modified rules of Rugby Union, Rugby League and Touch Football providing fun in the sun, beachside, with a relaxed party theme.
Since arriving onto the sporting scene in Australia in 2018, Beach Rugby Australia has quickly become a favourite on the Queensland sporting scene for end-of-season spring sporting celebrations, encompassing fast professional Beach 5s Rugby – fun on the sand, with a party atmosphere.
Held at iconic Greenmount Beach, the Gold Coast Beach 5s Rugby Festival features picturesque beach setting with the Beach Bar and Lounge, food trucks, live entertainment and is free to the public to attend.
Greenmount Beach is on the Southern Gold Coast and is an idyllic spot for swimming. Take a stroll along the oceanfront path around Greenmount Point, which is the coastal headland separating the stretch of Coolangatta beach and Rainbow Bay.
