Festival of TRL 2021

The Festival of TRL will return to the Gold Coast this October 2021.

The Festival of Touch Rugby League (TRL) consists of three separate events. On Wednesday the 13th of October, the TRL State of Origin series will take place. This will be a 3-game series, where QLD and NSW will battle it out for the title across 4 disciplines: Men’s, Mixed, Women’s & Over 30’s Men’s.

The second event that will take place on Thursday the 14th & Friday the 15th of October is the TRL World Cup. The TRL World Cup will consist of over 100 players representing 22 different Nations. It truly is a celebration of culture and TRL!

The final event that will take place on the 16th & 17th of October is the Australian Championships. The Australian Championships is arguably the biggest stage for TRL in Australia. Over 1300 players will complete representing 17 different regions.

2021 will bring the 6th State of Origin Series. With the talent pool growing each year this will be the most competitive to date. 2021 also brings the 4th edition of the TRL World Cup. This event celebrates the ancestral heritage of TRL players with 17 Nations represented across Men’s, Mixed, Women’s and Over 30’s. After the largest Australian Championships in 2020, the 2021 edition will truly be a representation of the best in TRL, both on and off the field across 7 APL and Cup Divisions.

The Festival of TRL is proudly supported by Major Events Gold Coast.
