The premier Judo festival of the year, the Judo Australia National Championships, is returning to the Gold Coast in 2023.
The Judo Australia National Championships has been held at premier sporting venue, the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, since 2018 and will be returning 9-12 June 2023.
More than 1,000 athletes will descend upon the Gold Coast to find out who the best judoka will be crowned National Champion in one of the weight categories across sixteen divisions including Junior Girls and Boys, Senior Girls and Boys, Cadet Women and Men, Junior Women and Men, Senior Women and Men, Kyu Grade Women and Men, Veteran Women and Men, No Limits and Kata.
Outside of the Championships, a three day national training camp (with the national team, Judo Australia national coaches and national staff) and a one day referee seminar will also take place.
Judo is a core sport in the Olympic and Commonwealth Games and the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre has been identified as the Judo venue for Brisbane 2032. The National Championships is a sporting activation spectacle that brings thousands of coaches, staff, volunteers, competitors, referees, officials and spectators to the Gold Coast to be involved at the highest level of the sport of Judo.
As Judo Australia look to build upon the previous success of past events and the strong numbers from the 2022 National Championships, this year’s event is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.
Major Events Gold Coast is proud to be supporting the Judo Australia National Championships on the Gold Coast from 2023–2025.
