Gold Coast Film Festival

The Gold Coast Film Festival consists of over 100 films, panels, pop-up screenings and special events across the Gold Coast from Coolangatta to Coomera.

Within these 100 films on display they feature a diverse range of Australian and International films, heroing films and filmmakers from diverse backgrounds and championing Women in Film. The aim is to give back to the industry with Free events to cultivate young filmmaking talent from directors to producers and talent.

The Gold Coast Film Festival has firmly established itself as a marquee event on the Australian film festival circuit, bringing films to life for 20 years since its inception in 2002. Our cinema partners, HOTA and Event Cinemas, along with a valued range of festival, support, community and cultural partners will help bring this amazing festival to cinema goers and industry professionals alike. The festival began in 2002 and in 2014 it shifted from a fantasy and sci-fi focus to a broader international direction which saw the festival spike in attendance, reputation and support.

HOTA (Home of the Arts) is the Gold Coast’s vibrant cultural precinct, offering a collection of unique indoor and outdoor event spaces and facilities, perfect for accommodating major events such as full-scale concerts to quality black box theatre performances, bespoke cocktail parties. Alongside the multiple Event Cinemas participating all the way from Coolangatta to Coomera, The Gold Coast Film Festival will include a valued range of festival, support, community and cultural partners which will help bring this amazing festival to cinema goers and industry professionals alike.
