Major Events Gold Coast (MEGC) collaborates with event partners to support the delivery of a vibrant festival and events culture for the Gold Coast.

MEGC welcomes the opportunity to work with event partners on the successful and seamless delivery of major events which attract visitation both nationally and internationally and contribute to building the Gold Coast as a Global Events destination.

MEGC will consider and assess applications for event funding based on their alignment with the city’s brand and image, and provide clear and tangible benefits to the city, such as:

  • attracting significant out-of-region attendance, with event participants and attendees visiting the Gold Coast for the primary purpose of attending the event
  • generating significant spending in the region leading to positive economic outcomes
  • promoting the city’s image as a global destination to a wide audience (achieving national or international coverage).
