Australia’s fastest-growing country music festival rises again in 2021

Groundwater Country Music Festival was postponed in 2020 due to COVID restrictions, and thanks to the hard work and determination of all Australians, we are excited to announce that the free event will be back in 2021 with a revised date, scheduled for 12-14 November.

The move from July to November will enhance everything the festival has to offer, showcasing the best of the Gold Coast as well as doing what it does best, bringing Country music to Australia’s favourite playground.

Festival Director, Mark Duckworth said:

“We’re excited to be giving Groundwater artists and fans something to look forward to and can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the Gold Coast for another great weekend, celebrating all things country music.”

Guns N’ Roses stadium tour to kick off on the Gold Coast

TEG Dainty and Major Events Gold Coast are thrilled to announce one of the greatest bands of all time Guns N’ Roses, will return to our shores in November 2021. Gold Coast fans should be extra excited too, with the stadium tour due to kick off on the Gold Coast on Saturday 6 November 2021 at Metricon Stadium.

As the first stadium tour announcement since the advent of COVID-19 and border closures pressed pause on touring, our appetite for live music performances by international megastars has peaked and we know that Guns N’ Roses larger-than-life stadium show will deliver on all levels.

After the Gold Coast show on Saturday 6 November 2021 at Metricon Stadium, Guns N’ Roses will then tour to Adelaide Oval on Tuesday 9 November before gracing the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday 11 November. Next up, the band heads to Sydney’s ANZ Stadium on Sunday 14 November, then Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday 16 November before Perth’s Optus Stadium hosts the final stop of the band’s 6-city Australian tour on Wednesday 24 November.

Paul Dainty, President and CEO of TEG Dainty said,

“Announcing an international tour of this magnitude as we come out of the most challenging year in the history of live entertainment is truly gratifying. We’re all eager to return to business and I am thrilled to restart major stadium events in Australia with one of the biggest bands in the world, kicking off on the Gold Coast at one of Australia’s best venues, Metricon Stadium”.

Mayor Tom Tate said,

“On behalf of all ‘Coasters I say to Axl, Duff and Slash: welcome to our jungle. This band takes their music to not only the fans on the night but to a global audience of Gunners. Around the world, there are millions of Guns ‘n Roses fans still as loyal today as they were in 1985. This group is an ideal mega attraction for our city which will lift our spirits post a shocking 2020 – and showcase the stadium and our magic city across the world. Bring it on.’’

Major Events Gold Coast CEO, Jan McCormick added

“It’s such a coup for the Gold Coast to be the first city to welcome ‘the Gunners’ back to Australia and I know fans will travel from right across the country, just to be the first to see them LIVE and loud at Metricon Stadium. From a business perspective, it’s also fair to say that 2020 has ‘rocked’ our local events industry to the very core, so this stadium event announcement gives us all a sign that ‘events are back’ and that we are ready to secure and deliver more major events on the Gold Coast.”

While the Guns N’ Roses stadium tour is due to kick off on the Gold Coast on Saturday 6 November 2021 at Metricon Stadium, the remaining National Tour Dates are as follows:

  • Tuesday 9 November – Adelaide Oval
  • Thursday 11 November – Melbourne Cricket Ground
